Meat Hell is a real-time strategy game based on meat. Currently in development. Wishlist on the Meat Hell Steam page.
Harvest chunks of meat for resources. Build meat tanks and train meat zombies. Fight meat vs meat, or against a completely different non meat enemy faction (details to be announced).
What it plays like
- Classic 90s RTS: build a base, harvest one resource, build from a sidebar. Look after your economy or you'll run out of army.
- Buildings are grown rather than built, and wired together by meat cables, so a working base looks like an organism.
- The AI picks a strategy from a library of playbooks and switches when its position changes, rather than running one scripted build order.
- Terrain is built from 3D tiles rather than a heightmap, so cliffs and ramps look like a 90s RTS.
- Made in Godot, for Windows and macOS. No release date yet: watch the dev log or the feed.

I've used AI for a lot of things in this project. The code, 3D models, textures, 3D animations, music and more. I know a lot of people don't want anything to do with AI so I want to be up front. This is a small pet project, I'm able to create a lot more of my vision than I could without AI. I do not dismiss the reasons people have for rejecting AI.
Latest from the dev log
The economy rework
Butchers cost more and storage is capped. A Butcher upgrade, a flier that makes spurters spurt faster, and a rebuilt end-of-match screen.
The meat navy
Boats. A shipyard on the shore, four water-only ships, a new naval map, and an AI that uses them. Plus a new keyboard scheme you can remap.
Tunnels
Maps get a second deck. Units fight through tunnels under the rock and cross bridges over it. New infantry models, and a sniper.
How things work
Meat resources and spurters
The resources in Meat Hell are chunks of meat, and they are spurted onto the surface by a kind of meat volcano thing called a spurter
